Dorothy (Bacon) Kerker

Home from China to Tryon, PEI school there, and in Sackville, NB and Port Elgin NB. Took the Secretarial course at Mt. Allison University in 1954. I moved to Toronto, ON to work in the United Church Radio Television and Motion Picture Dept. Off to Gander Nfld for a year, and back to Toronto working at The Toronto Star.

Married a Dutchman, Rudy Kerker, 1960, and we had our own business Kerker Metalcraft Ltd. in ornamental iron.

We have two children, Jeffrey and Wendy. Jeff is a Mechanical Engineer and Wendy a Legal Secretary. We have five grandchildren, two boys and three girls. Rudy’s father and mother immigrated from Holland and they were in business together for several years – Rudy carried on after his father retired. We kept busy camping, canoeing, and sailing and built a cottage on an island in Georgian Bay. Travelled to China in 1997 and met my sister, Helen in Hong Kong and went to Chengtu – found CS and on to our old city Kiating (Leshan).

Rudy died in a campground in West Virginia enroute to home from Florida in 2004.

I now live in Briar Hill, Alliston, Ontario
